Auto Locate Outlook Express Profile

At the launch of DBX to PST converter tool, two options are available. One is to ‘Load from configured Outlook Express profile’ and other to ‘Select file(s)/folder from file system’. On selecting the first option, the conversion algorithm automatically detects any OE profile present on the migration machine. It then scans and loads DBX folders from their default location. Quick Scan to Fix Corrupt DBX Files

This is a quick scanning feature to remove any unwanted, corrupt emails. It can scan and repair a .dbx folder and report errors. This report contains the status or the recovery and the number of items repaired. The scanning process starts as soon as DBX files are uploaded to the program.

Dual Mode of DBX File/Files Import

There are two ways through which one can upload a complete OE mailbox into DBX to PST converter manually. One is the ‘File Mode’ option that imports a single DBX file one at a time. The other is the ‘Add Folder’ mode with which one can transfer multiple DBX files into Outlook format. A single PST is created for each .dbx file.

Optional to Keep Folder Hierarchy

In the beginning of loading DBX files, the DBX to PST converter makes it optional to retain data integrity. If the box for ‘Maintain Folder Hierarchy’ is de-selected, emails will be in found in different folders than original. The conversion algorithm allows a user to preview each and every item before the transfer.

Nine Different Types Of Email Preview

The complete email folders are displayed in a tree-view on the left side of the application. On clicking any folder, a list of all emails within the folder is displayed. Each message can be viewed in nine different formats namely Normal, RTF, Hex, Attachments, HTML, Properties, Message Header etc. These can be useful for forensic analysis.

Multiple Options to Transfer Mailbox

There are two ways through which a user can move DBX file's data to another format. One is the single file mode. In this, messages are marked from the central preview, right-clicked and chosen to ‘Export’. The other is to select an email folder from the left pane and click ‘Export’ from the navigation bar.

Break PST File into Smaller Files

The DBX 2 PST converter provides an added feature to trim down the size of a DBX folder into smaller .pst files. This allows batch transfer of a large Outlook Express mailbox one at a time. It frees up the Outlook client for other tasks like communication and document sharing. This option is only available when converting to PST file.

Facility to Provide Naming Convention

When migrating Outlook Express to EML or MSG format, the DBX to PST file converter provides additional features. There is an option to give different names to resultant format. This can be based on subject, date or serial number. There are more than 5 ways the transferred files can be named.

Complete Conversion Report Generated

During the migration process, a live status report is generated with ‘Folder Name’ and ‘Item Count’. After the end of the transfer process, a complete report is generated with ‘Filename’ and ‘Exported Path’. This file can be saved in CSV format anywhere on the local system.
